It’s Raining It’s Pouring!!

Sunday, January 21st, 2007

Amazing scenes here in Roxby lately, the heavens opened up and the rain fell like there was no tomorrow!

A thrilling show was also put on by mother nature as the blankets of lighting lit up the clouds, truly a beautiful way for Baz and I to celebrate our 4th Wedding Anniversary, ontop of a sand dune, looking out over the mine and airport, it was her best show yet!!

For those of you who know Bazza as well as I do the rain also =’s mud bashing!! With the radiator back from the repair guys and the old girl requiring a run, we as a family went for a drive……

This is us before we even got onto the track – yes that is the main road into Roxby behind us – yes we had to ring Chad to use his V8 diesel ute to get us out – yes we continued onto many puddle crossings and the old troopy handled everything Bazza threw at it!

The weekend from hell!!

Baz wanted me to post these…..He, Mark and Cale decided to see the sites up the Borefeild Road on an overnight trip!
I got a phone call yesterday from a nice lady named Rachel who was travelling to Marree letting me know that Bazza’s engine fan went through his radiator and he needs to be towed back to Roxby Downs.

He was 150km’s North of Roxby slowly making his way back 5 km at a time after trying to repair his radiator with chewy and blue silicon.

Looking at the damage Dad and I were so surprised he even tried to fix it.
We towed him and his troopy home at 60km per hour. The Troopy now has a smashed wind screen and borefield dust through everything.

The flat egg tyre occurred 8km’s out of Marree on there way up to Muloorina Water hole.

The Troopy bogged is after Baz winched it out of a Mud bog he was in for 3 hrs. Baz slipped while winching and fell into a tree cutting his back, so Mark had to take over the hard stuff.

This photo of Cale and Mark under the shade on the Oodnadatta track was taken when Baz was waiting for his radiator repair to dry!

So today Baz is home feeling sorry for himself and nursing his back after a Weekend from Hell….

Cheers Rosalie

New years eve was alot less stressful as we all fell asleep by approx 10pm – just what we needed really as we travelled back to Roxby on New years day to unpack and start work again ;-(

After a few snoozers awoke we also had the tradition McGack dancing party which was a huge food and piss fest that lasted into the wee hours of Boxing Day!
